General Information About Summer Staff
Summer staff are hired to work a specific number of weeks, ranging from 1 week volunteers up to 15 weeks of a salaried position. The minimum number of weeks for a salaried position is 3 weeks. All staff must be willing and able to be a Cabin Leader (some exceptions apply). Staff will be assigned to one or more positions/job assignments, and these assignments may rotate from week to week depending upon our camp schedule and needs. Staff will see their main and potential job positions on their Staff Agreement.
Phantom Ranch is know for our healthy staff community and for providing ample time off from Friday 6pm to Sunday 1:30pm. We want to be good stewards of the staff God has provided so we offering training on REST and RECOVERY. We also provide support in maximizing one’s time off by providing transportation to local stores and the laundromat, by offering fun small to big activities over the weekend, and offering guidance on how to rest and recovery. Staff are also able to request time off for life events when applying and after being hired. We make intentional effort to give time off for life events.
Training is very important to the success of our ministry and our summer staff’s ability to thrive within our community. Your commitment to attendance at staff training sessions will be considered in making hiring decisions. Avoid scheduling Graduation Parties, Doctor Appointments and other life events during required trainings .Orientation and Safety Training is required for all staff. Short absences may be allowed at the discretion of the Program Director.
