Your prayers for our summer staff are working, we are getting more and more applications for summer staff.
We are not there yet, but we know God will provide the people we need. Along the way, we get to experience some cool stories of young people stepping out in faith to serve at camp.
Recruitment Success Story
Briel, will be the men’s Summer Staff Supervisor. We are thrilled he will be joining us in this leadership position. Briel heard about the ministry opportunity through a Ranch Friend and was inspired to make a big decision. He was planning to leave a full time job (with benefits) as an assistant manager at a store to work with us for the summer.
When the regional manager heard that Briel was leaving they offered him a promotion to keep him, but Briel made a commitment to us for the summer. So they upped the offer to store manager! The best part is that he can take a leave of absence AND start at his new store in late August.
Briel has a great Christian testimony, a hard work ethic, and has already accomplished so much considering he turned 22 in March. We told Briel his weekly salary. He compared that to how much he usually does daily, but it’s not about the money but serving God.
We know that there are many pressures on young people today, both internal and external.
We also believe that every Christian young adult should take time, while they can, to get involved in a ministry opportunity for an extended period of time. Summer camp staff ministry is a good way to spend 6 to 12 weeks in a summer.
- Company owners have told us that people who have worked at a camp make better employees.
- You will be expected to work hard, and learn to work hard. For some it is the first time they put in a 40 hour work week, it takes time to exercise the work muscles.
- Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5 that we will receive our just rewards for the good that we do. Summer Staff work is good, and there are eternal rewards for doing it.
